WU Di, b. in Dec.1954, is professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of International Studies and the School of Humanities, Zhejiang University, director of the Institute of World Literature and Comparative Literature, Zhejiang University.
He is the commissioner of the National Funds for Social Science, member of Chinese Writer’s Union, and the president of Zhejiang Provincial Association for Comparative Literature and Foreign Literature.
He received his MA from Hangzhou University in 1988 and his Ph.D from Zhejiang University in 2004. He was the visiting scholar at St. Petersburg University in 1993-1994 and Fulbright research scholar at Stanford University in 2001-2002.
His research interests are Russian poetry, English poetry, and literary translation studies.
His research programs include the national important key research program “The Formation and Spreading of Foreign Literary Canons”, the national research program “English Metaphysical Poetry”, provincial research program “Comparative Study of Chinese and Western Poetry”. 
His publications include 9 monographs, more than 20 books of translations and dozens of edited works. Among his representative works are Comparative Study of Euro-American Poetry(monograph), New Studies in Thomas Hardy(monograph), Complete Lyrical Poems of Percy Bysshe Shelley (translation), Complete Works of Alexander Pushkin in 8 Volumes(general editor). His publications got such prizes as China Book Prize, Zhejiang Provincial Prize for Social Science and many others.
