Professor DongmingYan's research group

Dongming Yan obtained his Ph.D. degree from Dalian University of Technology, China,  in 2006 and then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA from 2007 to 2011. After that, he joined Zhejiang University as a faculty.

 

Dongming Yan has been engaged in the study of structural engineering since 2000, and made important innovation in the dynamic behavior of concrete materials and the marine reinforced concrete structures. He has been a primary investigator of 17 research projects, including three projects from the National Science Foundation of China (one for Excellent Young Scholars, one General Project and one for Young Scholars), one sub project from the National Science and Technology Support Program of China, one project for Distinguished Young Scholars funded by Zhejiang Province Natural Science Foundation. He has published more than 80 academic papers in proceedings or journals. Those papers have been cited more than 680 times (in all) by researchers all around the world. As a main member, the applicant won the first prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Colleges and Universities by the Ministry of Education of China. Some achievement in concrete dynamics was included in the Code for Seismic Design of Hydraulic Structures and some achievement in chemically reactive enamel coating (CRE) was recommended in the Handbook of Loss Prevention EngineeringGermany. Some achievement has been applied in the dynamic analysis of concrete structures in hydraulic engineering and nuclear power engineering, and played an important role. He also serves the Fiber Reinforced Concrete Committee of China as a member and more than 10 famous international journals as an invited reviewer.
