Profile
Xiang Gao is associate professor of Government at Zhejiang University. She focuses on Chinese Local Government in recent years and has a special interest in describing and explaining local government's innovation in rural development, social management and democratic governance. She is the co-author of the book From State-Led Development to Endogenous Development: Redefining Rural and Agricultural Development in China(April, 2013). Her article have appeared in such journals as Daedalus:the Journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Australian Journal of Public Administration, Social Sciences in China and Chinese Public Adminstration.
