Dr. Junqing Zhai joined the Department of Education, Zhejiang University after 2.5 years' work as a Post-Doc Research Fellow at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Junqing received his Ph.D. from King's College London in Educational Research, with an emphasis in Science Education (supervised by Prof. Justin Dillon, Dr. Jill Hohenstein, and Prof. Jonathan Osborne). His research interests include science learning in informal outdoor settings and teachers' practice in inquiry-based science classrooms.

Junqing's article, '‘Am I Like a Scientist?’: Primary children's images of doing science in school' published in International Journal of Science Education, was the journal's Most Read article throughout 2014.


Junqing's book Teaching Science in Out-of-School Settings: Pedagogies for Effective Learning will be launched by Springer on 14 Sept 2015.
