Research work

Our research integrates microbial genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology, organic and analytical chemistry, synthetic biology, and X-ray crystallography approaches to study the biosynthetic machinary and regulatory mechanism of natural product biosynthesis. The goal is to isolate novel biocatalysts to catalyze new reactions, to generate new drug leads through biosynthetic engineering and genome mining, and to develop highly-efficient cell factories for drugs and chemicals, and to study the chemical ecological role of natural products.
