Dongxian Zhang, Doctor of Optical Engineering, Zhejiang University. She teaches 2 undergraduate courses “Synthetic Experiments on Optical Information ”, “Information perception of human vision and its applications” and 1 graduate course “Nano Technology and the Systems”. Her main research interests are optical engineering and micro/nano-technology including the new types of atomic force microscopy (AFM), micro/nano scale photothermal manufacturing and photothermal actuating techniques. The main research projects that have accomplished or are currently ongoing include: 1 National Natural Science Foundation Program (Leader), 1 International Cooperation Research (leader), 1 National High Technology Research and Development Program (863 Program) (Vice-leader of the research team), 2 Major Cross-cutting Projects (1 in charge) and more than 30 other projects. More than 80 articles have been published including 30 SCI indexed, 25 EI indexed and 10 ISTP indexed. There are 14 national patents of invention of which 8 granted and 6 published on line, 13 national patents of utility model granted and 5 pieces of software registered for the copyright. She was awarded the Second-class Prize of College Science technology issued by the Ministry of Education in 2008 and received the First Award of College Science and the Third Award of Science Advancement in Zhejiang in 2006.
