Profile

Dr Yang is a Professor in Geomechanics in the department of civil engineering of Zhejiang University. He obtained his Bachelor degree and Master degree in civil engineering at Zhejiang University in 1998 and 2001 respectively. In 2005, he was conferred with a PhD degree in geotechnical engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Prior to joining Zhejiang University, he worked in the University of Hong Kong and Imperial College London as postdoctoral research associate. His current research interests include constitutive behaviour and modelling of soils, particulate mechanics and discrete element modelling, piled foundations and applications in offshore engineering.
