Bin Wei is a ZJU 100-Young Professor, doctoral supervisor of Guanghua Law School of Zhejiang University, and the executive director of the ZJU Law&AI Laboratory of Zhejiang University. He received a Ph.D. in philosophy from Sun Yat-sen University and was jointly trained by the University of Groningen Law School (RUG).
He currently serves as the vice chairman of the China Legal Logic Professional Committee, the executive director of the Chinese Logic Society, a member of the Artificial Intelligence Logic Professional Committee of the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Society, an executive member of the Computational Law Branch of the China Computer Association. He is also a researcher of New Era “Fengqiao Experience”Research Institute, Zhejiang Digital Development and Governance Research Center, Zhejiang University and University of Luxembourg inaugurate joint lab (ZLAIRE). In 2022, he was appointed as the chief legal consultant expert of Hangzhou Law Society.
Prior to his current position, he worked as a lecturer and then an associate professor at Southwest University of Political Science and Law from 2014 to November 2019. he was selected to be a legal research scholar of the Supreme People's Court, where he contributed to the project of “smart court” and the informatization construction of the Chinese people's court.
Bin Wei's main research interest lies at the intersection of AI and law, his research directions include digital jurisprudence, legal informatics, computational law, AI&Law, and legal logic. He is also interested in the ethics and philosophy of science and technology, including bioethics and neuroethics.
