Dr. Huixiang Shi is the professor and PhD supervisor of Environmental Engineering in College of Environmental and Resource Sciences at Zhejiang University. Now He is the director of the Environmental Impact Assessment Research Office of Zhejiang University and the executive director of the Water Environment Branch of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences. In terms of research, he presided over the major national science and technology projects such as the Technology and Demonstration Implementation Plan for Pollutant Reduction and Water Ecological Restoration on the Entrance to the Lake and the Study and Demonstration of  Micro-Emission Integration Technology of Paper-making Waste Water. In addition, he also participated in a number of Zhejiang major scientific and technological projects, such as the comprehensive prevention and control of water pollution in the Qiantang River Basin, the catalytic oxidation of high-concentration organic wastewater, the experimental application of a new type of floating coagulant, and the research and demonstration of key technologies for biomass energy utilization of papermaking wastewater in anaerobic treatment. In the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, a number of environmental protection industries combining production, education and research have been formed, and significant environmental, economic and social benefits have been achieved.
