Zhou Changxin, male, associate professor, born in June 1965, studied Chinese medicine at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1984 to 1988, and graduated from the Natural Medicine Research Laboratory of China Pharmaceutical University from 1991 to 1994, 1997-2000 He studied for doctoral degree at Nanjing University, worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Zhejiang University from 2000 to 2002, and worked on the research and development of natural medicinal chemistry and new Chinese medicine at Zhejiang University, School of Pharmacy, from 2002 to now. Focusing on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, tuberculosis, and respiratory diseases, his research interests concerned mainly with fractions, active ingredients with obvious characteristics and advantages from ancient and traditional Chinese medicines, and to develop them into new single component formulation, unilateral and compound preparations. Till now, he has successively isolated and identified more than 400 chemical components from about 20 medicinal plants, which yielded not less than 60 research papers, in addition to 20 authorized invention patents. The research project he hosted included the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province, the postdoctoral fund projects, and some enterprise cooperation projects. In the new drug R & D process, he helped the cooperated company to obtain the clinical approval from CFDA for a first-class new Chinese medicine by participating in some pharmaceutical research. In addition, he is involved in the research and development of Chinese medicine major health products, covering various fields such as health care products and daily chemical products.
