Dr. Mingkui Zhang is mainly engaged in soil biogeochemistry of heavy metals and other pollutants, evaluation and management of cultivated land quality, and soil genesis and classification. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Soil and Agricultural Chemistry from Zhejiang Agricultural University in 1985, his Master's Degree in Soil Science from Zhejiang Agricultural University in 1988 and his Doctor's Degree from Zhejiang Agricultural University in 1991. In 1996, he visited the MACAULAY Land Use Research Institute in the UK to study soil clay minerals, and from 2000 to 2003, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in University of Florida, USA, mainly engaged in BMP work in farmland. He is currently the vice-director of the Soil Geography Professional Committee of the Chinese Soil Society, and also serves as editor of the nine national journals.
