Prof. Xu got his Ph.D degree from the Building Services Engineering Department of Hong Kong Polytechnic University at 2010 and joint the Institute of Refrigeration and Cryogenics of Zhejiang University at 2012. Now he serves as Professor and Deputy Head of the institute. 

His research mainly focuses on air conditioning and refrigeration technologies, especially the advanced control algorithm for smart A/C systems，and technologies related to distributed energy systems. He has published more than 90 journal papers and been invited to give keynote speeches in national conferences.
