Siyue (April) Li is a "Hundred Talents Program" Assistant Professor at Zhejiang University. Before joining ZJU, she was an assistant professor at the Ohio State Univesity. Her research lies at the intersection of communication technology, health communication, and interpersonal communication. In particular, she studies the process and outcomes of supportive communication in a variety of computer-mediated contexts. Her recent work examines how and why people differ in their support seeking and provision in online forums and social networking sites. A second line of her research investigates the impact of online health information seeking on people's health decision making. Her research has been published in a number of leading journals, including Communication Research, Communication Monographs, Human Communication Research, Health Communication, and Journal of Health Communication. She serves on the editorial boards of Communication Methods and Measures and Communication Research. She is also the PI for a grant funded by the National Social Science Foundation in China.
