Dr. Xu Xin obtained her PhD in epidemiology and cognitive neuropsychology from the UK in 2014. Subsequently, she worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Imperial College London as well as Nanyang Technological University, before returning to China and joining Zhejiang University as Professor of Epidemiology. 

Dr. Xu's main research areas encompass both healthy ageing as well as dementia screening, diagnosis, and preventive interventions, particularly for Alzheimer’s disease and associated neurodegenerative dementias. Her research track record includes over 50 articles in renowned international journals, e.g., Neurology, Brain, Stroke, JNNP, Alzheimer's and Dementia, etc. 

Dr. Xu has been invited to give talks at many international conferences during which she was awarded several Best Research prizes. She was also invited to complete her PhD oral defence at the Royal Society of Medicine, UK and was nominated for the Dean’s List. Her research has been highlighted by AHA through its official website and appraised as 'highly innovative and very important to the field'. 

In addition, Dr. Xu has extensive research collaborations with international leading medical schools on cutting-edge topics, including Cambridge (UK), Karolinska Institute (Sweden), and Erasmus Centre (Netherlands), many of which are still ongoing. 

Dr. Xu has supervised a number of PhD and Masters students, many of whom received various awards during their studies. Dr. Xu maintains a Senior Visiting Fellow role at National University of Singapore, and has  close collaborative relationships with most of the eminent researchers in the field.
