Xuechun Feng, Ph.D., is a "Hundred Talents Program" researcher and doctoral advisor at Zhejiang University. She earned her Doctoral degree in Entomology from Auburn University and completed her postdoctoral research at University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Her research primarily focuses on developing novel CRISPR genome editing systems in insects and designing CRISPR-based gene drive strategies for insect population control. She aims to create more efficient, safer, and environmentally friendly genetic engineering strategies to manage vector mosquitoes and major agricultural pests. She has published multiple reseach articles as the first or corresponding author, including Nature Communications, Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Frontiers in Physiology. She also leads a Youth Project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China .
