Xu Duanqing received his bachelor, master and  PhD degrees in computer application from Zhejiang University in 1989, 1992 and 2003 respectively. Since 1992, he has been teaching at the College of Computer of Zhejiang University, promoted to associate professor in 1997 and promoted to Professor in 2004. Currently he is a full professor of the College of Computer of Zhejiang University.  His main research intrests include Artificial Intelligence, digital media technology, virtual reality technology and digital protection and utilization of cultural heritages.  He owns 11 invention patents and 8 licensed software packages. he has published more than 80 papers.
