Pan Jian was born in September, 1962. He is a Doctor of Literature from Zhejiang University, a Post-Doctor of Communication from Fudan University, a professor from the College of Humanity of Zhejiang University, and also the chairman of the Center for Research on Film, Television, Animation and Game in Zhejiang University. He keeps not only studying and teaching but also practicing the business of film, television, cartoon, and cultural creative industry. Besides, Pan Jian holds the concurrent post of the vice-chairman of Chinese Film Critics Association, in which he is also the director of Animation and Game Subcommittee. In the Academy of Chinese Film Literature, he is the vice-chairman of Drama Theory Subcommittee as well. For a long time, Pan Jian has been a member of Animation Review Committee and the Project-Support-of-Excellent-Animation Review Committee of The Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of Zhejiang. He is also a reviewer of boutique cultural projects for the Propaganda Department of Zhejiang Province, and a reviewer of the Project Support for Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industry. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of Zhoushan Cultural Industry Development. Moreover, Pan Jian took charge of several national projects such as the study of Chinese animation industry and the study of the transition and upgrade of Chinese animation industry. As an editor-in-chief, he published “The Report on the Development of Chinese Animation Industry”. For some local governments, he compiled “The Development Plan of Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industry”, “The Plan of Jiaxing Haining Cultural Industry”, and “The Development Plan of Hangzhou Xiaoshan Cultural and Creative Industry”. Pan Jian devotes himself to Chinese animation and Cultural and Creative Industry, into which he has great insight.
