He received his Ph.D. degree in computer science and technology, and was qualified as a senior programmer (engineer) in applied software by the Ministry of Personnel. He is a master's tutor. Main research areas: computer application technology, agricultural remote sensing and information technology, land cover/land use mapping, land use (agriculture) planning. He has been engaged in various aspects such as soil and vegetation spectrum, rice yield and growth estimation by remote sensing, spatial distribution of soil properties, land use planning and mapping, remote sensing image classification and information extraction, cultivated land quality evaluation and analysis, basic farmland protection, land consolidation, etc. Artificial intelligence technologies such as deep learning, data mining (knowledge discovery) and image understanding are applied to remote sensing image classification and object recognition, soil science, land use, etc. There is a strong interest in the research and application of deep learning, convolutional neural networks, neural networks and their ensemble technologies, support vector machines (SVM), genetic algorithms (GA), genetic programming (GP), and decision trees. He has published more than 20 papers, some of which are in Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing, APPLIED ECOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH, PEDOSPHERE, Journal of Remote Sensing, Journal of Image and Graphics, Journal of Soil Science, Agriculture Journal of Engineering, Spectroscopy and Spectral Analysis, Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Wave and other journals. Hosted or participated as a major member in the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the "863" Project, the Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province, the Science and Technology Research Project of Zhejiang Province, and the large-scale horizontal projects with a funding of more than one million. As the main accomplisher, he won the third prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award, and the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Agriculture.
