Dr. Dongqin Feng is currently a professor at the Department of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University and enjoys the governmental special allowance awarded by the State Council. He has been appointed as the Qiu-shi Distinguished Professor of Zhejiang University. He is the member of the first technical committee for the institute of Cyber-Systems and Control and the National Engineering Laboratory of Industrial Control Systems Security Technology. He is the permanent staff of the National Key Laboratory of Industrial Control Technology.


He is the drafter and technical leader of the Ethernet for Plant Automation (EPA) which is China’s first industrial automation international standard. Since 2002, he has been a longtime Chinese specialist of the standards drafting team for IEC/TC65, SC65C and a committee member of TC124/SC4, SC2 and SC10. Over the years, he has host 17 projects supported by National high-tech industrialization the tenth and five-year, the National “863” program, National Development and Reform Commission, Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial government and so on, and has host 15 enterprise-funded latitudinal projects and other kinds of research projects.

Prof. Feng has a long history of working towards high-performance field bus, industrial control system security. He was in charge of establishing China’s first industrial automation international standard EPA which won the second prize of national science, technology and invention in 2009. Also, he has made a breakthrough in industrial control systems security.

 

He has originally solved ten technical problems during the application of Ethernet to fieldbus. He has 40 patents for invention (one was authorized in Japan, Europe and USA, one was authorized in Russia, Japan and Korea). The series of achievements have been applied in large-scale chemical field, oil refining and other process control fields and the social and economic benefits are greatly prominent.

 

He was in charge of establishing China’s first industrial automation international standard EPA and participated in drafting four national standards. The standard of intrinsic safety system design and cable installation was adopted by Germany as the German National standard and was the first China’s industrial automation international standard which was adopted by Germany.

 

He has built the classified protection model of the vulnerability analysis on industrial control systems and was in charge of building the National Engineering Laboratory of Industrial Control Systems Security Technology. In addition, he  was in charge of setting 5 national standards related to cyber security of industrial control system. The standards are listed as follows.
