 Shi Peihua, M.M., Deputy Director and Senior Attending of Orthopaedic Surgery, Master Tutor. Dr. Shi has been engaged in clinical, scientific research and education for more than 25 years. With abundant clinical experience, he is an expert in all kinds of advanced orthopaedic surgeries, and is particularly good at diagnosing and treating joint and spinal diseases and fracture trauma. He also takes the lead in performing arthroscopic surgeries for habitual dislocation of shoulder joint, rotator cuff injury and knee joint diseases in Zhejiang Province. Dr. Shi’s clinical research results are as below: 1) He takes the lead in China in applying autologous chondrocyte implantation to treat articular cartilage injuries; 2) Arthroscopic surgeries for shoulder and joint diseases and meniscus injury; 3) Mini-invasive replacements of prosthetic joints, especially those of hip joints with small incision, capsulorrhaphy and no postoperative drainages, which are more advanced in small wound, quick recovery, higher stability and less bleeding; 4) Diagnosis and treatment of spinal diseases. 

Dr. Shi now chairs 1 project from the National Science Foundation and 2 projects at the provincial and ministerial-level, and won the first prize of Technological Invention Award by the National Ministry of Education in 2012. More than 10 papers of clinical and basic research have been published in first-class national journals and SCI journals. Meanwhile, Dr. Shi is also engaged in guiding students and teaching the subjects Diagnostics and Orthopaedics in Zhejiang University School of Medicine.  


Treatment Services

·             Diagnosis and treatment of degenerative joint diseases of knee and hip;

·             Diagnosis and treatment of developmental dysplasia of hip joint and aseptic

    necrosis of femoral head;

·             Arthroscopic treatments for dislocation of shoulder joint, rotator cuff injury

    and injury of cruciate ligament of knee joint.

·             Diagnosis and treatment of cervical spondylosis and lumbar intervertebral disc

    protrusion;

·             Treatment of extremity fracture and spinal fracture.

Specialty Interests

Dr. Shi Peihua has been engaged in prosthetic joint replacement of knee and hip for more than 20 years, and has rich clinical experience in mini-invasive prosthetic joint replacement and revision. He takes the lead in performing arthroscopic surgeries to treat all kinds of joint diseases of shoulder and knee throughout the province. He is very skilled in surgery of cervical spondylosis and lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion.
