Bate serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering-ASCE (JGGE-ASCE). As a principal investigator, Dr. Bate has secured 2.6 million USD (personal share) in research funding surrounding geoenvironmental engineering area since 2011. His major funding resources include the Organization Department of CPC Central Committee, NSFC, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC, USDOT, University of Missouri Research Board, and AREVA energy company. He advises 4 postdoctoral research fellows, 15 Phd students, and 15 master students. He published 74 top-tier SCI-indexed journal articles (average impact factor 5.6), with 51 as either the 1st or the corresponding author, including JGGE-ASCE, Journal of Hazardous Materials, and Acta Geotechnica. Dr. Bate is accepting postdoctoral fellows in areas of soil remediation, unsaturated soils in geo-energy, discrete element method, computational fluid mechanics, microfluidic experiment, and geotechnical centrifuge modeling.
