His research focuses on health benefit of phytochemicals on edible agricultural products. He has devoted great efforts to establish a new system for evaluating the nutrition value and health benefits of edible agricultural products scientifically and comprehensively based on the practice of agricultural industry. The system includes a national network platform for the components of agricultural products, the expression standards of functional figures within the agricultural products (standard draft) and SOP for determination of components in edible agricultural products. He is the author of >90 publications, with more than 1,300 citations by Google Scholar. He also has been authorized 25 national invention patents and 5 international PCT patents. He is the Co-Editor-in-Chief of e-food Journal, and Guest Editor of International Journal of Molecular Sciences, and in the editorial board of several journals. He is the author of the book, Handbook of analysis of nutritional and bioactive compounds in edible agricultural products (China Agriculture Press), published in 2017 and Food Chemistry (Zhejiang Zhejiang University Press), published in 2013. He is also a scientific member of 2nd, 3rd International Symposium on Phytochemicals in Medicine and Food.
