Hu Huizhu is a Qiushi distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor of Zhejiang University, winner of outstanding youth science foundation, director of National Key Discipline Laboratory, and a national expert such as national key R & D plan expert, national major science and technology project argumentation expert and national standard technology evaluation expert.

In 1999, he graduated from the Department of Applied Physics of Xi'an Jiaotong University with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 2004, he graduated from the Department of Optical Engineering of Zhejiang University with a Doctor of Engineering degree. Since that year, he has been working in Zhejiang University till now. He was promoted to associate professor in 2005 and professor in 2012.

He has been engaged in the research of inertial technology, optical sensing and precision measurement technology for a long time, undertaken and participated in a number of major national key projects, made outstanding achievements in frontier research, technology research and development and engineering application, made contributions to a number of national major projects and key equipments, and won the provincial and ministerial science and Technology Progress Award and other various national and provincial commendations as the first person.

He was selected as one of the top young talents in the national ten thousand talents program, 151 Talents Project in Zhejiang Province, and won many honors, such as advanced individual in the National 863 Program, Wang Daheng Optics Award of China Optical Society.
