Jie Fu, Ph. D., Professor in the College of Chemical & Biological Engineering, Zhejiang University, Vice Director for the Key Laboratory of Biomass Chemical Engineering of Ministry of Education. During the period of Sept, 2005-Jun, 2010, he was a PhD student jointly trained by Zhejiang University and University of Michigan (during Sept, 2008-Jun, 2010 trained at University of Michigan), and received Ph. D. degree in Jun, 2010. During the period of Jul, 2010-Jul, 2012, he was a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering, Iowa State University. In Aug, 2012, he joined Zhejiang University. His research interests include chemical conversion of biomass, electro-chemical conversion of CO2, design and systhesis of nano-catalysts. He has published more than 130 articles in journals such as Ind. Eng. Chem. Res., Angew. Chem, J. Am. Chem. Soc., ACS Catal., Green Chem., and J. Catal. with more than 90 papers as the first or corresponding author, and granted more than 40 Chinese innovation patents. He has led over 20 fundamental and enterprise projects, including NSFC, Boeing, Sinopec, etc. As Secretary General, he organized the first and second International Symposiums on Biomass Utilization Technologies. Moreover, he won the first prize of science and technology progress from China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (first contributor).
