Kaijie Yang, ZJU 100 Young Professor and PhD Supervisor. Dr. Yang earned his PhD in Environmental Science from Zhejiang University in 2018. Then, he joined King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) as a Postdoctoral Fellow and was promoted to Research Scientist in 2022. In 2024, he was selected for Zhejiang University’s "ZJU 100" (Category A) program and currently serves as a researcher professor.
His research primarily focuses on the development of advanced photothermal technologies and their applications in freshwater production, pollution control, and resource extraction. He has published 24 SCI papers in leading environmental journals, including 15 paper as first author, with highlights such as three publications in Nature Communications, one in Nature Reviews Clean Technology, one in Nano Energy, two in Environmental Science & Technology, and three in Journal of Materials Chemistry A. Dr. Yang holds four granted Chinese invention patents, with one technology transfer, and has two pending U.S. patent applications. His research has been widely recognized, including a full-page feature in Okaz Newspaper and coverage by prominent science and technology media such as AAAS EurekAlert and WIRED. He also serves as a Guest Editor for Discovery Energy.
