Gang Li was born in 1971 in China and studied chemistry at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, where he received a B. S. degree in 1993 and a M. S. degree in 1996. After having worked at Zhejiang University for three years, he was sent as an international exchange student to Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, where he received a Ph. D. degree in Applied Chemistry (under Prof. Masahiko Matsukata) in 2003. After one-year postdoctoral studies at Waseda University, he returned in 2004 to Zhejiang University, where he is now an associate professor at department of chemistry. He is the co-author of over 40 papers. His current research interests include chemistry of micro- and mesoporous materials and energetic materials, synthesis and applications of zeolite films and membranes.
