The molecular mechanism of acrosome biogenesis and nuclear shaping still remain unknown up to date. I have been working on functions of KINESIN related motor proteins and myosin during spermatogenesis, especially the molecular mechanism of acrosome formation and nucleus shaping. About the sperm diversity, I will focus on molecular mechanisms of acrosome formation as well as nucleus shaping. Comparative studies of sperm will be made on those of marine crustaceans. A potential evolutionary route may be found depends on the molecular mechanism of spermatogenesis.
My projects include both basic research about the motility of spermatogenesis and applied studies which are related to clinical application. Our research is mainly supported by National Nature Science Fundation of China.
