Dr. SHAO Xingjiang, associate professor at College of Education Zhejiang University. He is deputy director in the Institute of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at COE as well as director of Studio on Educational Space Design at Architectural Design and Research Institute of ZJU. He got his BA in Science at Zhejiang University and his Ph.D from joint doctoral program of Columbia University and East China Normal University.He was a visiting scholar of UCLA and Indiana University. He is a teacher at Zhejiang University Since 2009.

His research interests focus on planning and design of school space since 2004.He has done several research projects from National Social Science Foundation of China, National Office of Educational Science Planning and Social Science Fund of Ministry of Education, he is the column contributor of Journal of Shanghai Education. He has published two books, one of which named School Building, also more than 40 academic papers in this field. He has designed numerous k-12 schools including Suzhouwan International Academy affiliated to BFU, Xicang International School affiliated to BFU, Hangzhou school affiliated to ECNU, Hangzhou Daguan Middle School, New Campus of Nanjing Foreign Language School, Ningbo Zhenghai Experimental School, Taizhou Dayang Elementary School and Et. He is one of several design experts in China who understands both education and architecture.
