Dr. Yanni Chen is a “100-Talents Program” Researcher in geomechanics at Zhejiang University. In 2021, he obtained the competitive National Natural Science Fund of China for Excellent Young Scientists (Overseas). Prior to joining ZJU, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Northwestern University and the University of Sydney after graduating with her Ph.D. in 2020. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2013 and master's degree from Zhejiang University in 2016. Afterward, she moved to the U.S. for her Ph.D. study at Northwestern University and earned her Ph.D. degree in 2020. In 2018, she visited the group of computational geomechanics at CEDEX in Madrid Spain for half a year. Her research aims to clarify the role of soil behaviors on the failure of geotechnical structures and earthen slopes through analytical and numerical approaches.
Our lab has openings for postdoctoral applicants. Feel free to email me if you are interested. Happy to have a chat.
