Driven by the strategic needs of the advanced semiconductor and integrated circuit industries, his research focuses on the heterogeneous integration of novel optoelectronic devices with CMOS technology, aiming to achieve high-sensitivity intelligent sensing, broadband imaging, and low-power in-sensor computing. Tailored for the Internet-of-Everything/Intelligence (IoE/IoI) and ubiquitous electronics, his work has yielded numerous landmark publications in top venues such as Nature Electronics, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Photonics, and IEDM. Additionally, he is an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (FInstP), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), and an OSA/Optica Fellow, and serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE TED. Recognized for his significant academic impact, he was consecutively named an Elsevier
