Biography
Ning HU, from Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, is the Professor in Department of Chemistry, ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center of Zhejiang University, doctoral supervisor. He also serves as a Professor at the Children's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and the National Clinical Research Center for Children's Health. Dr. Hu obtained his Ph.D. and B.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Zhejiang University, and later conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Tufts University.
For over a decade, Dr. Hu has focused on the interdisciplinary field of biomedical sensing and nanotechnology, aiming to innovate micro-nano biomedical sensing technologies, overcome technical and instrumental bottlenecks, and break foreign technological monopolies. He has systematically developed core biomedical sensing components including biological models, reagents, devices, techniques, and instrumentation.
He has led more than 30 research projects including NSFC International Cooperation Projects, General Programs, International Exchange Programs, Youth Programs, MOE Talent Programs, Provincial Key Projects, and industry collaborations. He has participated in over 10 national instrumentation development projects from NSFC and State Oceanic Administration.
Dr. Hu has published over 120 peer-reviewed SCI papers, including more than 80 as corresponding author, in top-tier journals such as Nature Reviews Gastroenterology and Hepatology (IF=45.9), Biosensors and Bioelectronics (IF=10.7), ACS Nano (IF=15.8), Nano Letters (IF=9.6), Nano-Micro Letters (IF=31.6), Advanced Functional Materials (IF=18.5), Research (IF=8.5), Small (IF=13.9), PNAS (IF=11.1), Chemical Reviews (IF=51.4), Advanced Materials (IF=27.4), and Advanced Healthcare Materials (IF=10.0).
He holds more than 20 granted invention patents, with 4 technology transfers, and has authored five monographs in both English and Chinese based on his biomedical sensing research. His contributions to the field have been recognized with the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education for Technological Invention and the Second Prize for Natural Science. He also serves as associate editor or editorial board member for several SCI journals and was named among the World's Top 2% Scientists for two consecutive years (2023–2024).
